Application for approval:

The application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to specific requirements of the electric power train must be submitted by the vehicle manufacturer or his representative. The application must be accompanied by the following documents, and by the following information:

• Detailed description of the vehicle type with regard to the electric power train and the galvanically connected high voltage bus;
• For vehicles equipped with REESS, additional evidence confirming that the latter complies with the requirements of point 6. of this Regulation.

Approval of a rechargeable energy storage system (REESS):

The application for approval of a type of REESS, with regard to the safety requirements of the REESS, must be submitted by the manufacturer of the REESS or by his representative. The application must be accompanied by the following documents, and conform to the following specifications:

• Detailed description of the type of REESS or of an independent technical unit with regard to the security of the REESS;
• One or more representative components of the type of REESS to be approved plus, at the discretion of the manufacturer and with the agreement of the technical service, the parts of the vehicle considered essential for the test by the technical service must be submitted to the technical service carrying out the approval tests;
• Before granting type-approval, the type-approval authority must satisfy itself that satisfactory arrangements exist to ensure effective control of the conformity of production.
