Rear underrun protectives devices (rupd)

This Regulation does not apply to:

– Trailer units for articulated vehicles;
– Trailers specifically designed and built for transporting very long loads of indivisible length, such as timber, steel bars, etc.;
– Vehicles for which road use is incompatible with traffic rules may be partially or completely exempted from this regulation, depending on the decision of the approval authority.

The transverse height of the crossbar must be at least 120 mm. The lateral ends of the crossbar must not bend backward or have sharp edges; this requirement is met when the lateral ends of the crossbar are externally rounded and have a curvature radius of at least 2.5 mm.
