Since 2020, ATS Group has obtained the designation by the Swedish Transport Agency Transportstyrelsen as a Technical Service, as an Inspection Body and Certification Body ( type approval code E5 / e5).

ATS Group is therefore able to issue Certificates of Approval of Vehicles, Components, Systems and Technical Entities.

Thanks to the various accreditations, certifications and awards obtained, ATS Group is able to fully satisfy all the requests of Customers and Manufacturers in the context of Inspections, Tests aimed at obtaining the Certificate of Approval and Certifications.

ATS Group works in partnership with various Laboratories and Test Tracks that strictly comply with the ISO 17025 standard, always guaranteeing, and in every part of the world, a quality and speed of service in carrying out testing operations.

The code attributed to Sweden is “E5“, which can be used to identify the set of components, systems or vehicles in general which, once the requirements, specifications and tests established by the UNECE Regulations have been passed, the Economic Commission for ‘Europe of the United Nations, may be placed on the market.

Categories:

  • Vehicles cat. M, N, O – Approval and production control of motor vehicles and their trailers, as well as systems, components and technical units intended for such vehicles, according to the reference framework regulations: EU Regulation 2018/858, subsequent amendments and additions.
  • Vehicles cat. L – Approval and production control of two or three-wheeled vehicles and quadricycles, according to EU Regulation 168/2013 and on delegated acts.
  • Vehicles cat. T, C, R, S – Approval and production control of agricultural and forestry vehicles according to EU Regulation 167/2013 and its delegated acts.
  • Non Road Mobile Machinery NRMM – Approval and production control of non-road engines (Non-Road Mobile Machinery) according to EU Regulation 2016/1628.
  • Individual Type Approval – Single vehicle type approval, according to the reference standards: Art. 24 Directive 2007/46 / EC and Chap. IX of EU Regulation 2018/858.
  • Components, systems and technical entities – Approval and production control of components, systems and independent technical units, according to CE / EU and ECE standards.

How does the european type-approval works?

European type approval follows a well-defined flow chart based on the provisions of the UNECE. This procedure applies in the same way in all countries that have signed the UNECE agreement. Here we can give a brief overview of the process, step by step:

1) First, it is necessary to carry out an inspection (COP) on the manufacturer, to verify the compliance of its production plant with EU standards;

2) The second phase consists of tests in an authorized laboratory;

3) A report (Test Report) of the tests carried out must be drawn up by the technical service and must be sent to the competent authority;

4) The Authority verifies the compliance of the Test Report with the European Regulation required by the manufacturer. If the inspection report corresponds to the required EU / ECE standards, an approval certificate is issued.

5) Once every 2 years, an inspection must be carried out both on the production plant and on the previously approved product, in order to confirm compliance with EU standards.
