What is the purpose of a Control Plan?

• A control plan must specify the actions taken by the approval holder to ensure compliance with regulations for the Type Approval. Control plans must:
• Be owned and managed by the approval holder.
• Have a document reference, version level, be dated, and be part of or referenced in the Quality Management System.
• Contain references to the legislation against which the item is tested/verified.
• Describe the tests and verifications to be performed, including marking inspection.
• Indicate the frequency of the tests.
• Identify who performs the tests.
• Establish acceptance/rejection criteria.

The maximum period between on-site visits will be 3 years, but it may be shortened based on legislative requirements and the level of risk determined during the audit. ATS reserves the right to conduct an audit at any time during the validity of the authorization.

Test Data

Some regulations require the periodic submission of test data, such as emission laws. The ATS CoP team will request the data when necessary or may review them during a regular meeting.

The CoP test data will be evaluated by an ATS Engineer, and follow-up actions may be required if there are any questions. Failure to submit the data can result in the revocation of approvals, so it is essential to follow the tests agreed upon in the control plan.
